Two-factor authentication

When two-factor authentication is enabled, verification is only requested on a new device or a new browser. A recognised device stays trusted for seven days from the same IP address, one day from a different one.

Account verification: the six-digit code
  1. Enter the six-digit code from your authenticator app.
  2. Click Verify code.
  3. Without access to the app, use a recovery code.
Method How it works
Novadesko app (recommended) A notification arrives on your mobile; you pick the number shown by the login page out of three suggestions. Three attempts at most.
Google Authenticator You enter the six-digit « Code d'authentification » (authentication code) from your authenticator app.
Code by e-mail Fallback offered on the login page when your mobile is out of reach.
« Code de récupération » (recovery code) Click « Utiliser un code de récupération » (use a recovery code) and enter one of your emergency codes.
  1. After the password, the « Vérification du compte » (account verification) screen opens.
  2. Enter the six digits: the cursor moves from box to box, and pasting a complete code fills them all.
  3. Click Log in. The button stays greyed out until the code is complete.

To enable two-factor authentication, open User profile, Security section, then Enable 2FA and choose the method. See Profile and security.

Warning

Keep your recovery codes outside the application. Without your mobile, without an authenticator app and without a recovery code, you will no longer be able to sign in without help from support.

Note

On the verification page, the checkbox offering not to ask for the code again on this device adds the device to the trusted list.

Active sessions

Each sign-in opens a session. In User profile, the Active Sessions block lists your connected devices and browsers. Click the session to close and confirm Confirm logout from this session?; the message Session logged out successfully. confirms it. A new e-mail warns you each time someone signs in from an unknown device.

Tip

Logout is at the very bottom of the user menu. On mobile, logging out from the user menu closes the session on that device only.
