Stock management (Pro)
The Inventory add-on: stockable products, quantities, alert thresholds, and the inventory status on the web.
Stock management is an add-on, Stock management, available from the Pro plan. Until it is active, the product form shows "Stock management available from the Pro plan" in the Stock field; a click leads to the Plans. Once the add-on is active, every product can be tracked by quantity, and the Catalog menu of web.novadesko.com gains the Inventory entry.
What you will do
- Enable stock tracking on a product.
- Set the quantity and the alert threshold.
- Read the inventory status and export it.
Enable tracking on a product
- Open the product with Edit, or create it.
- In the Stock field, enable « Gérer le stock de ce produit » (manage stock for this product).
- Fill in Stock Quantity and, if you want to be alerted, Alert threshold.
- Click Save.

In the product list, the Stock column appears: it shows the quantity of stockable products, in red when it is less than or equal to the threshold, and a dash for the others. The column can be sorted, and Multiple selection adds Select stockable. On import, the stock or stock_quantity column sets the quantity.
The desktop and mobile apps let you enter the quantity and the threshold, and show the Stock column. The Inventory screen described below exists only on web.novadesko.com.
The inventory status (web)
The Catalog › Inventory screen, titled Inventory Status, presents the stock position at a given date.
- Four indicators: Total Products, Total Value (at purchase price excl. VAT), Low Stock and Out of Stock, with the note Action required when products need restocking.
- The Product List: Reference, Name, Category, Actual Stock, Stock Status (Out of stock, Low stock or In stock), Unit Margin, Avg. Purchase Price, Sales Value, Avg. Sale Price and Profit. The footer totals the stock and the value of the page.
- The Category and Stock Status filters, the Search product/reference... field, the warehouse selector (All warehouses by default) and the Inventory end date.
- Export report generates the Inventory as of [date] document with your company details, the breakdown per product (quantity, purchase price, alert threshold, gross profit) and the grand total. Its footnote states that negative quantities indicate stockouts or anomalies to investigate.
Set the Inventory end date to the last day of your financial year and export the report: it is the supporting document for the value of your stock at year end.
This page does not document the history of stock movements (receipts, issues, adjustments) or their link with sales and purchases: these screens are not available in the sources consulted. Until they are described here, assume that the quantity is updated through the product form and through import.
The dashboard
With the add-on active, the dashboard offers the Stock management widget (tracking of inventory levels) and the « Stocks » (stocks) shortcut to the inventory. See Widgets.
