Customer groups
Grouping customers to apply preferential pricing to them: creation, members, activation.
A customer group brings together customers who share a price list: resellers, wholesalers, VIP customers. Groups are managed on web.novadesko.com, in the Customers › Customer Groups menu. The desktop and mobile apps do not show groups yet; a customer created there has no group.
What you will do
- Create a group with a name, a colour and an icon.
- Add customers to it.
- Deactivate or delete a group.
Create a group
- Open Customers › Customer Groups on web.novadesko.com.
- Click New Group.
- Fill in the properties, then click Create. The message "Group created successfully" confirms.
| Field | Use |
|---|---|
| Group Name | Mandatory. For example VIP, Resellers, Wholesalers. |
| Color | Colour of the badge shown next to the group's customers. |
| Icon | Icon of the badge. |
| Description | Internal notes, optional. |
| Group active | Inactive groups are not offered for selection. |
The group list shows, for each group, its name, its status (Active or Inactive), the number of customers and the Edit and Delete actions. The Search a group… field filters by name.
Add members
- Open the group with Edit.
- In the « Membres du groupe » (group members) section, click « Ajouter un client » (add customer).
- Type at least two characters of the name, email or company, then choose the customer.
- Click Update. The message "Group updated" confirms.
A customer belongs to only one group at a time. On their record and in documents, the « Tarif [group name] » (group rate) badge shows the price list applied.
The group is for pricing. To email several customers, use the list's multiple selection or your email templates instead; there is no bulk sending by customer group.
Deactivate or delete
- Deactivate: untick Group active. Customers already assigned keep their group, but it is no longer offered for new assignments.
- Delete: click Delete then Yes, delete. A group that still has members cannot be deleted; the message "Cannot delete this group: customers are assigned to it" says so. Remove the members first.
Setting prices per group (which price a product takes for the members of a group) is not detailed on this page; it depends on your catalogue settings on the web. If your documents do not apply the expected price, check the customer's group on their web record and the product price in Products and services.
