macOS, Linux, web and mobile apps

Where to download Novadesko, how to install it on each platform, the macOS Treasury widget and the known limits of each version.

Novadesko comes as a web version, as a desktop app for macOS and Linux, and as a mobile app. All of them connect to the same account and the same data: what you enter on one appears on the others. The page novadesko.com/telecharger detects your system and offers the right file. The mobile apps (iOS, Android) are currently available in French only; the web and desktop apps are available in English.

What you will do

  • Choose the version that suits your computer.
  • Download and install the application.
  • Add the Treasury widget on macOS.

The current version of the desktop apps is 1.2.1.

Installing on macOS

  1. Download the disk image that matches your Mac. In the Apple menu, About This Mac shows "Apple M1" (or a higher number) for Apple Silicon, or "Intel".
  2. Open the .dmg file, then drag Novadesko onto the Applications shortcut.
  3. Launch Novadesko from the Applications folder or Spotlight. The app is signed and notarised by Apple: no security warning is expected.
  4. Sign in with your usual credentials. See Login and two-factor authentication.

The Treasury widget

The macOS app installs a Trésorerie Novadesko widget that shows your total cash position on the desktop or in Notification Centre.

  1. Launch Novadesko at least once and sign in: it is the app that supplies the figures to the widget.
  2. Right-click the desktop and choose Edit Widgets, or open Notification Centre and click Edit Widgets.
  3. Search for Novadesko, then add the Trésorerie Novadesko widget.

The widget refreshes every 30 minutes from the data written by the app.

Installing on Linux

With the .deb package (Debian, Ubuntu, Linux Mint, Zorin):

  1. Download the package for your architecture.
  2. Open a terminal in the file's folder and run sudo apt install ./novadesko_<version>_amd64.deb (or _arm64.deb). The GTK 3, libsecret, libnotify and liblzma dependencies are installed automatically.
  3. Launch Novadesko from the applications menu, or type novadesko in a terminal.

With the .tar.gz archive (other distributions):

  1. Extract the archive: tar -xzf novadesko-<version>-linux-amd64.tar.gz.
  2. Enter the folder and run bash install.sh. The script asks for your password, copies the app to /opt/novadesko, creates the novadesko command and adds a shortcut to the menu.
  3. Launch Novadesko from the menu or with the novadesko command.

The web version

No installation: open web.novadesko.com and sign in. The web version gives you access to all the modules, including those that the desktop app opens in the browser.

Warning

Known limits as of 6 October 2026:

  • Windows is not yet available; use the web version.
  • The Linux x64 package is published separately from the others and may carry an earlier version number than the macOS and ARM64 packages.
  • The desktop app covers the dashboard, documents, customers and suppliers, the catalogue, transactions, the bank, the Peppol Inbox, messaging, Novadesko Intelligence, notifications and settings. The other menu entries open the web version in your browser.
  • app.novadesko.com is a recent web version: if signing in there fails, use web.novadesko.com.
Note

On Linux, the .tar.gz archive does not update itself: reinstall it with each new version. The .deb package is replaced with the same apt install command.
